QUEBEC CITY (AP)—American Bethanie Mattek-Sands beat third-seeded Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic 6-2, 6-1 Saturday to reach the Bell Challenge final.

No. 3-seeded Mattek-Sands will face Tamira Paszek on Sunday after the Austrian beat American Christina McHale 6-2, 6-2 in the indoor WTA Tour event at Club Avantage Multi-Sports de Quebec.

Mattek-Sands had lost both of her previous matches Lucie Safarova in straight sets.

“Bethanie just played too well,” said Safarova, the runner-up here last year. “It seemed everything she got her racket on went in.”

Paszek, who has reached her third career final and will attempt to win her second title, hasn’t lost a single set during the week.

“She was a tough opponent. I didn’t know what to expect,” Paszek said of McHale. “Everything seems to be finally fitting together this week. I’m feeling healthy.”
