After winning his fifth Masters Series title by defeating Tomas Berdych 7-5, 6-4 in Miami, Andy Roddick is expected to pass Robin Soderling at No. 7 in the rankings when they are released on Monday.

This year, Roddick has also won Brisbane, reached the quarters of the Australian Open, the final of San Jose and the semis of Memphis. “Obviously it's a big title for me. I felt a little bit of pressure to win this one, because I had a pretty good opportunity in Indian Wells and didn't come through there," said Roddick.

“But I think just the last month has been real good for me. I've played well on the big moments. Haven't had an off day mentally.”

The title run was Roddick's first Masters 1000 title since Cincinnati in 2006 and his second consecutive appearance in a Masters final—he reached the final at Indian Wells, where he fell to Ivan Ljubicic. It also marked the first time since 2003 (Montreal and Cincinnati) that Roddick has reached the final of back-to-back Masters tournaments.—M.C.
