NEW YORK(AP) Ivo Minar of the Czech Republic has pulled out of the U.S. Open because of an injury, allowing 2005 boys champion Ryan Sweeting of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., to get into the tournament.
The 63rd-ranked Minar's withdrawal allows Rajeev Ram of Carmel, Ind., to move off the top of the alternate list and into the main draw.
Ram had been awarded a wild card. Because he no longer needs one, Sweeting now will get that wild card.
The U.S. Open starts Aug. 31.
