Gael Monfils, who did not have a coach for most of the 2014 season, says he wants to find someone to work with him again.

The No. 18-ranked Frenchman said he was looking at sharing a coach with Gilles Simon. Simon, ranked No. 21, is coached by Jan De Witt.

''I spoke to five people who I like, but three only wanted to do 15 weeks," he told L'Equipe. "I talked with Jan, but I prefer to say nothing for now because nothing is done. I could be [him], it could be someone else."

But, Monfils emphasizes, he now wants “a real team,” consisting of a coach, physio, and physical trainer.

Having experienced knee problems during the year, Monfils defeated Roger Federer in the Davis Cup final, then suffered a hamstring injury while playing in the International Tennis Premier League (ITPL) during the off-season. He has withdrawn from the upcoming Abu Dhabi exhibition.

Fellow Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who did not play doubles or reverse singles in Davis Cup because of an arm injury, also participated in the ITPL but has withdrawn from Hopman Cup with the problem. Michael Llodra underwent elbow surgery a week ago.
