Yesterday we covered 2023’s title leaders, and today it’s all about 2023’s win leaders—the most match wins on both tours this year.

And for the second straight year, Iga Swiatek dominates the women’s tour in terms of match wins, finishing with 68.

She’s actually the only woman who even reached 60 this year.

WOMEN’S WIN LEADERS FOR 2023 (tour-level):

  • 68: Iga Swiatek [68-11]
  • 59: Jessica Pegula [59-18]
  • 55: Aryna Sabalenka [55-14]
  • 51: Coco Gauff [51-16]
  • 47: Elena Rybakina [47-15]

Swiatek’s 68 wins in 2023 were the most for a woman in a single season since Serena Williams won 78 matches in 2013.

And having had 67 wins in 2022, Swiatek is the first woman to win 65 or more matches in back-to-back seasons in 15 years, since former No. 1 Jelena Jankovic in 2007 (72) and 2008 (65).

Meanwhile, the battle to become 2023’s win leader on the men’s tour went down to the wire, but in the end it was Daniil Medvedev who edged Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, 66 to 65 to 64.

MEN’S WIN LEADERS FOR 2023 (tour-level):

  • 66: Daniil Medvedev [66-18]
  • 65: Carlos Alcaraz [65-12]
  • 64: Jannik Sinner [64-15]
  • 56: Novak Djokovic [56-7]
  • 56: Andrey Rublev [56-26]

Medvedev’s 66 wins in 2023 were the most for a man in a single season in six years, since Rafael Nadal won 68 matches in 2017.

In fact, Medvedev is the first man other than Roger Federer, Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray to have more than 65 wins in a season since 2012, when David Ferrer piled up 76 wins.
