Three-Peat: Iga Swiatek wins yet another Roland Garros

Yesterday we covered this year’s title leaders, with Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek on top of the men’s and women’s tours.

And the same two players top the match win leaderboards, too.

This year, Sinner became the first player—male or female—to win 70 or more matches in a season since Andy Murray won 78 in 2016.

And there’s more: with his sparkling 73-6 win-loss record this year, Sinner became just the fifth man this century to win 70 or more matches in a season with 10 or fewer losses, after the usual suspects—Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Murray.

Sinner didn't lose a match in straight sets all year—in fact, he pushed his only six losses to a deciding set, whether it was best-of-three OR best-of-five.

Meanwhile, Swiatek led the women this year with 62 wins.

Just over a third of those wins came during a 21-match winning streak across the clay and grass court seasons, where she won three straight titles at Madrid, Rome and Roland Garros before her run was ultimately snapped at Wimbledon by Yulia Putintseva.
