Andy Murray, who became the first British male to win a Grand Slam singles title in 76 years when he beat Novak Djokovic in the 2012 U.S. Open final, says that when he lost to Djokovic in the 2011 Australian Open final, he began to doubt whether he would ever win a major.
“I knew deep down how tough it was to do it because of the people you were competing against,” he said. “So I started to question whether I was going to be able to do around that age. But I always worked hard and tried to do all the right things. I'm glad it finally happened.”
