Andy Murray believes he has a chance to beat five-time champion Rafael Nadal in semifinals of Roland Garros. Murray, who bested Juan Ignacio Chela in straight sets Wednesday, has never beaten the Spaniard in three clay-court matches, but has beaten him four other times. Nadal owns a 10-4 head-to-head record against the Scot and is 3-2 against him at the majors.

"I think in the buildup to the French I was playing very well, and now I'm going to have to get that level out on Friday and sustain it for a long period to beat Rafa," Murray told reporters. "I feel I can do it. It's just making sure that come Friday I play my best tennis. I have to play a very consistent match, and I have to be mentally strong. Tactically I'm going to have to be very good. So I can definitely win. I just need to play my best. But I obviously want to go further. It's not worth going through what I've gone through the last four or five days [Murray has been contending with an ankle injury] to just sort of be happy getting to the semis."
