Last year marked the debut of the kind of tennis tale only Tennis Channel can deliver: “My Tennis Life,” an in-depth, ongoing look at life as a touring pro. From practice to travel, the big wins and the tough losses, the sizzling days and the festive nights, “My Tennis Life” brought it all, as told in 2017 by American Nicole Gibbs and Australian Sam Groth.

This year’s “My Tennis Life” stars: promising young American Jared Donaldson and a veteran, Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic.

The 21-year-old Donaldson has made a nice rise up the ranks, going in the last 12 months from 105 at the start of 2017 to 54 by year’s end. It will be fascinating to see how he fares throughout 2018.

Safarova has seen it all. This 30-year-old lefthander has been ranked as high as five in the world, reached the singles final at Roland Garros, won five Grand Slam doubles titles and also faced a life-threatening illness.

As a new season of “My Tennis Life” gets underway, let’s hear more from Jared and Lucie:
