Rafael Nadal says that injury or illness did not play a part in his quick, 6-3, 6-0 loss to Roger Federer in the ATP World Tour Finals. Nadal entered the contest with a 17-8 record against the Swiss. Nadal had complained of stomach problems in his win over Mardy Fish, and said a shoulder problem had stopped him from practicing on Monday.?
"I had to work a lot yesterday on the recovery on the shoulder," he told reporters. "Seriously yesterday I didn't know if I was going to be ready to play today. [But] it didn't affect my match today because I felt perfect today. At the same time, for me it's a positive day today because I played without problems and I can still play and continue in the tournament and I can still have chance."
