The Spaniard has not played since the French Open, where he withdrew mid-tournament with a wrist injury.

"I have not competed in two months, and I have not practiced much," he said following a practice session on site in which his wrist was wrapped. "I'll decide in the next few days what is best for me and best [for] the team."

Nadal is scheduled to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles, but don’t expect to see the Spaniard in top form.

“I will not be at my best level in any of the events,” the world No. 5 admitted.

Nadal won the gold medal in singles at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
