David Nalbandian fights off two match points to defeat Australian Lleyton Hewitt 3-6, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6, 9-7 in the first round of the Australian Open. Hewitt was up 3-0 in the fourth set and also held break points to go up 4-0. Nalbandian cramped in the five-hour and 18-minute match which ended past 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

"I take away brave heart I had on court," Nalbandian said. "We are both older and  have come back from hip surgery and we both fought to the end."—Matthew Cronin
