New fiance Altidore, new coach Groeneveld for Sloane Stephens

The 2017 US Open Grand Slam champion and Altidore have been together since 2016.

Sloane Stephens has added a new coach along with a new fiance this week—the 25-year-old announced that Sven Groeneveld has joined her team.

A few days ago, Stephens had also announced her engagement to soccer player Jozy Altidore, who she has been dating since 2016.

Stephens had split with her previous coach, Kamau Murray, during the 2018 offseason and has since worked with some interim coaches. While working with Murray, Stephens won her first Grand Slam title by capturing the 2017 US Open. Groneveld is a veteran coach who has worked with Ana Ivanovic, Maria Sharapova and most recently Chinese ATP player Yibing Wu.

Stephens and Groeneveld will start their first event together next week at Madrid.
