Mornin', folks. I'm presently at the farm in game-rich Andes, and the fog is so thick outside the doors to the deck that the tall pine trees just a few feet away appear to be black stalagmites. Its very early in the morning and Cowboy Luke is still asleep upstairs. We drove up last night but I'll be down in New York tomorrow, and posting from out at the USTABJKNTC (United States Tennis Association Billie Jean King National Tennis Center). Meanwhile, here is your Crisis Center post for today, and I'll have Part 3 of Ray Stonada's own Greatest Road Trip in Sports posted later, or tomorrow.

In case you didn't see it and want to, I wrote a post over at ESPN: Ten Things You Aren't Likely to See at the 2007 US Open. Those items are always fun to write. If you want to add entries of your own, feel free to do so below.

I've given up on asking y'all to identify player pictures, because one or another of you seems to get it right away, almost as quickly as Ruth's identity was revealed yesterday at Heidi's Deuce Club post. You're just too swift for me. So heres an image for today, I'm sure you all know who it is. This is another portrait that comes to us via the sensitive, artistic eye of Snoo Foo. She has a disconcerting way of laying bare a subject's soul and defining his or her essense with one ruthless yet tender click of the shutter, no? Diane Arbus, eat your heart out, even if you are dead - is Diane Arbus dead? Stand-up girl that she is, Snoo is sending this one out to Mrs. Santa, who's crush Gael Monfils is out of the US Open. Would it add insult to injury to say is is frolicking in the surf at St. Tropez with a clutch of Victoria's Secret models? Just kidding about that, of course.

What I can't figure out is whether Snoo has yet to hear about this technique called red-eye reduction, or if that strange glow in Tipsarevic's eyes is the reaction all men get when they lay eyes on Snoo. In any event, the picture was taken at the US Open qualifying the other day.

Enjoy the action in New Haven and out at the US Open qualifying today, folks. Too bad about Crush.
