In a very cool addition to Tennis Channel’s coverage of this week’s ATP Finals, 2022 Wimbledon finalist and former world No. 13 Nick Kyrgios will be joining the commentary team from Wednesday through Sunday as the tour's elite battle it out for year-end glory.

And given his resume against the players he'll be watching, he’s going to be a very insightful addition to the commentary team: Kyrgios has a 16-8 combined head-to-head record against the current ATP Top 8, with winning individual head-to-head records against five of the six he's played.

KYRGIOS HEAD-TO-HEADS VS CURRENT ATP TOP 8:

  • 2-1 vs. No. 1 Novak Djokovic
  • 0-0 vs. No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz
  • 4-1 vs. No. 3 Daniil Medvedev
  • 0-1 vs. No. 4 Jannik Sinner

  • 4-1 vs. No. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas
  • 4-3 vs. No. 7 Alexander Zverev

His 2-1 record against 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic started with back-to-back hard-court wins in 2017, in the quarterfinals of Acapulco, 7-6 (9), 7-5, and in the fourth round of Indian Wells, 6-4, 7-6 (3). Djokovic won their most recent meeting in the Wimbledon final last year, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (3).

Kyrgios has seven career ATP titles, including four ATP 500 titles at Tokyo in 2016, Acapulco and Washington D.C. in 2019 and Washington D.C. again in 2022.

With Tsitsipas unable to play his last round-robin match due to a back injury, first alternate Hubert Hurkacz will be stepping in to play Djokovic on Thursday. Kyrgios is 0-2 against the world No. 9, though both meetings went three sets—at Halle in 2022, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4), and in Canada in 2022, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5), 6-1.

Kyrgios is one of a number of top players who have done commentary for Tennis Channel in the last few years, alongside Caroline Wozniacki, Chris Eubanks and Taylor Townsend.

The Australian will make his Tennis Channel debut with the round-robin clash between Medvedev and Zverev on Wednesday.
