Novak Djokovic says he could select a coach within a few weeks, but would not comment on speculation about potential candidates.

"I'm going to think about who I want in my team and I don't yet have anyone,” he said following his opening-round win in Madrid. “But I think by the French Open, or after the French Open, I'm going to have someone.”

The world No. 2 recently announced he would no longer be working with his longtime coach Marian Vajda. He also parted ways with his trainer, Gebhard Gritsch, and his physio, Miljan Amanovic. Back in 2016, the Serb stopped working with Boris Becker.

The Daily Telegraphpreviously reported that Djokovic was considering Andre Agassi for the role of coach.

Djokovic acknowledged the speculation, particularly given his comment that he would like to have a coach who has had "similar experiences like I have."

"There are not too many of those kind of champions in the history of the sport," he said. "…I guess it's normal that people start coming up with names. I can't talk more than that."
