Novak Djokovic played with an injury during his Davis Cup match against Russian Daniil Medvedev in Serbia, winning the encounter when his opponent retired.
He called the trainer in the first set for pain in his shoulder, then won the next two sets before Medvedev stopped play with cramps. Djokovic did not play doubles during the tie, and was not required to play the reverse singles when Serbia won 3-0 to reach the quarterfinals. He is not scheduled to play again until Indian Wells.
