On Saturday, Ultimate Tennis Showdown2 kicked off for more innovative action in Nice, France. UTS1 was played across five weekends at the Mouratoglou Academy and ended with Matteo Berrettini beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final on July 12.

This weekend, UTS2 began with a few new faces, including Fernando Verdasco and Grigor Dimitrov—the latter of which is playing his first event since testing positive for COVID-19 in June. The format is a little different too, with players split into two groups and winners moving into the semifinals where Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime are waiting.

Saturday saw four matches take the court:

Feliciano Lopez def. Alexei Popyrin, 3-1
