Paula Badosa wants you to know that she was ahead of the curve when it comes to Bad Bunny.

Ahead of the upcoming Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, the former world No. 2 gushed about the Grammy-winning Puerto Rican-born rapper's viral Super Bowl halftime performance, and how she's been a fan since before he became a household name.

"On tour, I was always Bad Bunny, Bad Bunny since years ago," Badosa said. "So I'm a big, big fan. He's one of my favorite artists. The last three, four years, he's been my No. 1 artists in the wrap-up we do at the end of the year."

The end of the viral performance last Sunday, a show watched live by more than 128 million people, spoke to her specifically, she said.

"The message he sent, it was important for the world," she said about the message of unity delivered by the artist, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. After putting together a set with some of his most famous songs, and guest appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, Ocasio rattled off all the countries of the Americas, as a billboard behind him declared that "the only thing more powerful than hate is love."

"Addicted" to Ocasio's most recent album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, Badosa loved other aspects of the performance, too, including the homage to "La Casita," a recurring stage design that represents a traditional Puerto Rican home. Saying it would've been a "dream" to be alongside some of the famous faces that Ocasio brought to Santa Clara for the performance, she's now instead looking to be in the crowd for his upcoming world tour—even if it's "sold out everywhere."

"But I'm going to try to make it happen. ... I'm really looking forward to seeing you," she said in a personal message to the artist. "I really love the message you share with the world, and everything you're creating."
