Is Tommy Robredo contemplating a career change? Not really. The Spaniard, who is competing this week at the BNP Paribas ATP Tennis Masters Series at the Palais Omnisports Paris-Bercy, just took some time out on Monday to tally ho!

Robredo saddled up to take his hand at another gentlemen’s sport, polo. Although he is used to running about with a mallet-like object in hand ready to pummel a ball, he found that it is much different when you have a galloping stallion underneath you. So the Spaniard practiced first on a wooden mock-up before mounting a brown horse and getting a bit of practice on the green.

Robredo, who sat on the cusp of qualifying for his first Masters Cup going into Paris, needed a good showing—no pun intended—to secure one of the three coveted berths still remaining. Perhaps the challenge of riding a horse while striking a ball helped him get there by making tennis seem slightly less complicated.
