Yonex provides players with two weight options in its RDiS 200: heavy (the HG) and light (the G). Both of these RDiS frames are much more flexible—10 percent more, according to our testing machine—than the 100, the version used by Lleyton Hewitt. That means the 200 has a slight backward bend on contact, which allows the strings to cradle the ball for an extra millisecond and give the hitter excellent directional control. According to Yonex, this improved flex was achieved with a new technology it calls “Cup-Stack Carbon Nanotube,” which is applied throughout the frame to give it a more supple and limber feel. The RDiS 200 also delivers considerable power for a thin-beamed head-light player’s frame, if you’ve got the long, grooved strokes to produce it. The sweet spot appears to be a little higher up on the strings (around the ninth cross string from the tip) than it is on most player sticks that offer this much control and spin.

Bottom Line: A formidable entry for all-courters, with a weight-option bonus.
