Despite losing two tiebreakers to Andy Roddick in Winston-Salem, James Blake says that nothing on the court could change his friendship with his compatriot.
"They all sting, but when it's 6 and 6, they sting a little more," he told the Winston-Salem Journal. "About halfway through my career, I learned to have a short memory. Before the match we were sitting around talking. We were buddies. Once the steam stops coming out of my ears, we'll go back to being buddies. If I was sticking around here, we'd probably go to dinner tomorrow night. Nothing is going to change. One match isn't going to change anything. He's still going to be invited to my wedding. We're still going to be friends 10 years from now.”
