Andy Roddick is out of the French Open after a 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 loss to Teimuraz Gabashvili.

"It was a tough matchup for me in these conditions. He has pretty big swings and gets good length on the ball... the tricky thing is for him normally is having enough time to take those kind of swings at the ball.  Today he definitely had plenty of time," said Roddick. "I'm a little shorter and wasn't able to penetrate the court quite as well."

Roddick's loss came on Court Suzanne Lenglen, where he has often struggled. "It's known as the slowest one.  It's a fun court as far as people viewing, and I have no issue with it.  It's just the way that it plays doesn't really help me out much," he said.

Gabashvili, a qualifier, said he had played well, but not as well as he played to get into the event. "I didn't play [my] best match in this tournament," he said. "My best match was second round qualifying against Thierry Ascione. I won 6-2, 6-0. It was unbelievable. I made 31 winners and 9 or 7 unforced errors, so it was crazy match."
