The Western & Southern Open has announced that Shelby Rogers, Sebastian Korda and Brandon Nakashima will receive wild cards into next week's event.

The 1000-level event in Cincinnati has given wildcards to nine Americans, along with Australian Nick Kyrgios, the Washington, D.C. champion.

On the women's side, Grand Slam champions Venus Williams, Sofia Kenin, and Sloane Stephens have also received entry, along with recent San Jose finalist Rogers.

Williams has been playing her first events of the season, falling in the first round of Washington, D.C., and Toronto, while Kenin is another player returning to tour from injury. Stephens is No. 50 in the rankings.

On the men's side are up-and-coming players Korda and Nakashima, plus Kyrgios, who recently reached the final of Wimbledon.

Korda is No. 52 in the rankings while Nakashima is a handful of spots lower. Kyrgios is up to No. 37 in the rankings, having received no points for his Wimbledon run. The Cincinnati tournament still has one men's wildcard it can award.

Alexander Zverev has withdrawn from the event, sidelined with ankle surgery. Novak Djokovic is also likely to withdraw from the competition, due to his unvaccinated status preventing him from entering the United States.
