Serena Williams has been named the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year and Kim Clijsters has taken the Comeback of the Year award.

"Being nominated this year, it means the world to me,” Clijsters said at Indian Wells on Tuesday, before the winners were announced. “After having my daughter and being back in tennis, the results have come a lot faster than me and my whole team expected."

Roger Federer, nominated in the World Sportsman of the Year category, was among those beaten out by Usain Bolt.
