Maria Sharapova said that the Russian team can beat Poland this weekend in the Fed Cup when they play in Krakow Arena, where already 15,000 seats are sold out.

Sharapova faces Urszula Radwanska after Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated Agnieszka Radwanska, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 to give Russia the lead.

"I think many things as expected when you are playing an away match might go against you as far as the court, the atmosphere and the crowd," Sharapova told "But, overall I think once the team gets out on the court, no matter who we are facing, we thrive on the challenges. I think the importance is the focus on what we have to do."

The Polish captain, Tomasz Wiktorowski, who has worked with Agnieszka Radwanska over the past few years, said that his team can upset Russia.

Wiktorowski said, “They need to do a small adjustment and it will be great for us."

Agnieszka Radwanska is down in her head-to-heads to both Sharapova and Kuznetsova, but has home advantage. "We have a big stadium and arena and lots of things going on," Radwanska said. "It's a huge event. It’s big. We have nothing to lose. They have really great teams and the top players, it won’t be easy but we’ll play our best and we’ll see."
