Fernando Verdasco, last year's quarterfinalist Juan Carlos Ferrero and Nicolas Almagro all went out at Wimbledon on Tuesday.

An ailing Verdasco lost 7-6(9), 6-2, 6-7(6), 6-4 to Fabio Fognini, later saying he had problems with a nail, his groin, his elbow and his left arm.

Ferrero exited 6-2, 6-7(8), 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-1 against Xavier Malisse, and is expected to drop out of the Top 20 as a result.

And Almagro, who was carried out on a stretcher after injuring himself during a match last week, fell 7-6(4), 7-6(7), 6-4 to Andreas Seppi.
