Stan Wawrinka back on practice court following knee surgery

Stan Wawrinka is back on court, having been sidelined with a knee injury since Wimbledon.

The three-time Grand Slam champion underwent surgery and announced he would not play again for the rest of the season.

But Wawrinka has now shown himself back on the practice court in a video on Twitter, saying he is "happy and excited."

He is scheduled to return at the Abu Dhabi exhibition event, which is played just before the new season begins.

Wawrinka is No. 7 in the rankings.
