Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray’s resurgence in Stuttgart continued today as he took out Nick Kyrgios, 7-6 (5), 6-2, in an all-star semifinal clash at the grass-court event between two of the biggest names in the game.

With the one-hour, 31-minute victory, Murray reaches a double milestone: it’s not only the 70th ATP final of his career, it’s the 10th ATP final of his career on grass.

Murray has a 46-23 career record in ATP finals.

With 46, he has the fourth-most career ATP titles among active players after Roger Federer (103), Rafael Nadal (92) and Novak Djokovic (87).

The former No. 1 has a near-perfect 8-1 career record in ATP finals on grass, with this being his first one since winning his second Wimbledon title in 2016.

MURRAY’S 10 CAREER ATP FINALS ON GRASS (8-1 record):
Won 2009 Queen’s Club (d. Blake, 7-5, 6-4)
Won 2011 Queen’s Club (d. Tsonga, 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4)
R-Up at 2012 Wimbledon (l. to Federer, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4)
Won 2012 London Olympics (d. Federer, 6-2, 6-1, 6-4)
Won 2013 Queen’s Club (d. Cilic, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3)
Won 2013 Wimbledon (d. Djokovic, 6-4, 7-5, 6-4)
Won 2015 Queen’s Club (d. Anderson, 6-3, 6-4)
Won 2016 Queen’s Club (d. Raonic, 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-3)
Won 2016 Wimbledon (d. Raonic, 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2))
TBD: 2022 Stuttgart (vs. Berrettini)

Murray has played Matteo Berrettini twice before and they’re 1-1, with Murray winning on hard in Beijing in 2019, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (7), and Berrettini winning on grass at Queen’s Club last year, 6-3, 6-3—the Italian then went on to reach the Wimbledon final.
