Coco Gauff now has the longest women’s winning streak of the year, recording her 15th victory in a row on Thursday by defeating Tokyo champion Veronika Kudermetova in Beijing, 7-6 (5), 6-2.

Since then she’s won 15 in a row to capture her first WTA 1000 title in Cincinnati and her first Grand Slam title at the US Open, and now reach the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 event in Beijing.

Gauff showed some incredible resilience to take the first set against Kudermetova on Thursday. After originally leading by a break at 4-2, she lost the next three games and found herself down triple set point with Kudermetova serving at 5-4, 40-0. The big-hitting Russian even had a fourth set point later in that game—but Gauff just wouldn't let go, and she eventually snuck the set out in a tie-break.

The floodgates then opened for the 19-year-old in the second set as she stormed through to her 11th quarterfinal of the year.

Up next for Gauff in Beijing will be the winner of the later third-round match between Maria Sakkari, who recently captured the first WTA 1000 title of her career in Guadalajara, and China’s Wang Xinyu.
