Fabio Fognini recorded the 400th win of his career in Hamburg on Tuesday with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5) victory over Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene in the first round of the ATP 500 clay-court event.

The 35-year-old, whose career highlights include reaching the quarterfinals of Roland Garros in 2011, winning the Masters 1000 event in Monte Carlo in 2019 and reaching a career-high ranking of No. 9, is now the 14th active men’s player—as well as the first Italian man in the Open Era—to record 400 tour-level wins in his career.
