Felix Auger-Aliassime has been on fire during the indoor hard-court season this year, winning back-to-back ATP 250s in Florence and Antwerp the last two weeks, and today—after defeating Carlos Alcaraz, 6-3, 6-2, his second straight win over the world No. 1—moving through to his third final in as many weeks at the ATP 500 in Basel.

One of the foundations of his winning streak has most definitely been his serve: Auger-Aliassime has held his last 75 service games in a row.

The last time Auger-Aliassime was broken was in the third game of his quarterfinal match against Dan Evans in Antwerp last week, which gave Evans a 2-1 lead—the Brit then rode that break until he had the first set in his pocket.

But Evans never broke Auger-Aliassime again in the match, the Canadian holding all 13 times the rest of the way en route to a 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory.

And he hasn’t been broken since, either.

AUGER-ALIASSIME’S 75 SERVICE HOLDS IN A ROW:
~ Antwerp QFs: d. Evans, 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2 (held last 13 service games of the match)
~ Antwerp SFs: d. Gasquet, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3) (held all 12 service games)
~ Antwerp F: d. Korda, 6-3, 6-4 (held all 10 service games)
~ Basel 1st Rd: d. Huesler, 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4 (held all 16 service games)
~ Basel 2nd Rd: d. Kecmanovic, 6-1, 6-0 (held all 7 service games)
~ Basel QFs: d. Bublik, 6-2, 6-3 (held all 8 service games)
~ Basel SFs: d. Alcaraz, 6-3, 6-2 (held all 9 service games)

Auger-Aliassime has only faced break point in 2 of his 75 service holds in a row—Korda had double break point in one game in the Antwerp final, and Alcaraz had a break point in the very last game of their Basel semifinal.

Scarier: Auger-Aliassime didn’t even face a break point in 73 of those 75 service games, the only trouble coming against Korda in the final of Antwerp (the American had double break point with Auger-Aliassime serving at 1-2, 15-40 in the second set) and against Alcaraz today (the Spaniard had a break point in the very last game).

Even scarier: Auger-Aliassime has actually held 94 of his last 95 service games, as before getting broken by Evans that one time in Antwerp, he had held 19 service games in a row (a streak that dated back to the Florence final the week before, where he dropped his opening service game against American J.J. Wolf).

The Canadian, who’s won his last 12 matches in a row now, is a win away from becoming the first man to win three ATP titles in three weeks since Casper Ruud achieved the feat in July 2021, conquering Bastad, Gstaad and Kitzbuhel.

“I never expected it, when I was in Florence three weeks ago, or after the US Open," he told ATPTour.com. "I’m just really happy that all my work is coming together.”

The No. 9-ranked Auger-Aliassime will take on No. 25-ranked Danish teenager Holger Rune for the title in what will be the first career meeting between the two.
