With her 6-2, 7-5 victory over American Jessica Pegula in the semifinals of Miami on Thursday night, soon-to-be-world No. 1 Iga Swiatek not only extended her winning streak to 16 matches (and 18 sets) in a row, she also became just the ninth woman to reach the final of both Indian Wells and Miami in the same year.

Standing between Swiatek and the Miami title will be Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion and former No. 1—and 2018 Indian Wells champion.

The two have only played once before, with Osaka edging Swiatek in the third round of Toronto in 2019, 7-6 (4), 6-4—at the time, Osaka was a two-time Grand Slam champion and ranked No. 2, while Swiatek was No. 65 and just on her way up.
