Iga Swiatek put on another dazzling performance in the final of Roland Garros today, powering past Coco Gauff, 6-1, 6-3, to claim the second Grand Slam title of her career.

That victory extends Swiatek’s 2022 winning streak to 35 matches in a row—she went 5-0 to win Doha, 6-0 to win Indian Wells, 6-0 to win Miami, 2-0 in Billie Jean King Cup, 4-0 to win Stuttgart, 5-0 to win Rome and now 7-0 to win Roland Garros.

And with that, she joins some very rare company: Swiatek is just the eighth woman in the entire Open Era to have a winning streak of 35 or more matches in a row.

WOMEN IN OPEN ERA WITH 35+ WINNING STREAKS (players with multiple 35+ winning streaks are listed in order of their longest streak):
~ Martina Navratilova: 74 wins in a row in 1984 (also had a 58, 54, 41, 37 and 36)
~ Steffi Graf: 66 wins in a row in 1989-1990 (also had a 46 and 45)
~ Margaret Court: 57 wins in a row in 1972-1973
~ Chris Evert: 55 wins in a row in 1974 (also had a 41 and 36)
~ Martina Hingis: 37 wins in a row in 1997
~ Monica Seles: 36 wins in a row in 1990
~ Venus Williams: 35 wins in a row in 2000
~ Iga Swiatek: 35 wins in a row in 2022

Serena Williams would be next on the list with her 34-match winning streak in 2013.

If she wins each of her next three matches, Swiatek would shorten the short list by one player each time, surpassing Venus, Seles and Hingis in succession.
