Leylah Fernandez broke early in the third set and held the rest of the way to defeat Shelby Roges in the third round of Indian Wells on Monday night, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, avenging a defeat to the American in the fourth round of the same event last year.

And with the win, the Canadian teenager has now won 16 of her last 20 matches, a stretch that begins with her run to the US Open final last year.

She’s also won 15 of her last 17 matches in North America.
