Novak Djokovic already turned heads with a monster of a stat two days ago—with his semifinal win over Ben Shelton at the US Open he reached his 36th Grand Slam final, and with this being the 72nd Grand Slam he’s played in his career, he’s now reached the final in half of the Grand Slams he’s ever played.

And with his 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3 victory against Daniil Medvedev in the final on Sunday, he now reaches another perfect fraction.

Djokovic has now won 24 of the 72 Grand Slams he’s played in his career—which is exactly one third.

His 24th career Grand Slam title is his most special one to date, too. He now has more majors than any other man or woman in the Open Era, surpassing Serena Williams’ 23, and he’s now tied Margaret Court for most majors for any man or woman in history.

With his 2023 Grand Slam successes, Djokovic now has 10 Australian Opens, three Roland Garros titles, seven Wimbledons and four US Opens.

In terms of win rate at the Grand Slams, Djokovic outpaces his two closest rivals, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Federer won 20 of the 81 majors he played in his career, which is just under a quarter of them (approximately 24.7%).

Nadal comes much closer, winning 22 of the 67 majors he’s played in his career, which is just under a third (32.8%).

Djokovic also won his 24th Grand Slam title at a special time—the player he ties for the all-time record, Court, captured her 24th Grand Slam title at the 1973 US Open, exactly 50 years ago.

And if history is anything to go by, it’s likely Djokovic will break that record in the coming months, too, as he’s a 10-time champion at the Australian Open—including winning it the last four times he’s played it in 2019, 2020, 2021 and this year.
