Novak Djokovic extended his winning streak to 17 matches in a row on Saturday with a come-from-behind 5-7, 7-6 (3), 7-5 win over Andrey Rublev in the semifinals of the Rolex Paris Masters, which put him through to the record-extending 58th Masters 1000 final of his career.

He’s now a win away from a record-extending 40th Masters 1000 title.

It was also Djokovic’s milestone 50th win of the year, the incredible 14th time he’s won 50 or more matches in a single year, having also done it in 2007 (68), 2008 (64), 2009 (78), 2010 (61), 2011 (70), 2012 (75), 2013 (74), 2014 (61), 2015 (82), 2016 (65), 2018 (53), 2019 (57) and 2021 (55).

He’s the third man in the Open Era to win 50 or more matches in 14 different seasons, tying Jimmy Connors for second-most.

MOST YEARS WINNING 50+ MATCHES (men, tour-level, Open Era):
16: Roger Federer [2002-2012, 2014-2015, 2017-2019]

14: Jimmy Connors [1972-1984, 1987]
12: Ivan Lendl [1980-1987, 1989-1992]

Djokovic is now a win away from his seventh Rolex Paris Masters title. No other man in tournament history has won it more than three times.

And there’s more—with his victory over Rublev, he’s now a ridiculous 9-0 in his career against Top 5 players at the Rolex Paris Masters.
