You’ve seen her courtside supporting American tennis players around the world. The force behind the USTA, Chicago native Katrina Adams’s growing legacy began inside the lines before holding the most prestigious post in American tennis.
Between 1988 and 1999, Adams enjoyed a terrific tennis career on the court, where she collected 20 doubles career titles, and reached her highest ranking of No. 8 in doubles and No. 67 in singles. In 2015, she became the first African American and youngest person to be named the chairman, CEO and president of the USTA.
An athlete and community activist, Adams, 49, has always been a team player and an iconic leader, and continues to grow her impressive legacy.
