DUESSELDORF, Germany(AP) Robin Soderling defeated Rainer Schuettler of Germany 6-0, 6-0 Thursday to put Sweden one win away from the final of the World Team Championship.
Schuettler won just 16 points in a match that only lasted 45 minutes.
The winner of the three-match Red Group advances to Saturday's final.
In the Blue group, Argentina, Italy and Serbia are in a three-way fight for a place in the final.
Argentina leads Russia 1-0 after Juan Martin Del Potro defeated Igor Andreev 6-3, 7-6 (3). Italy also leads Serbia 1-0 after Andreas Seppi beat Viktor Troicki 6-1, 6-4.
Eight teams are split into the two round-robin groups, with France and the United States already out of contention in the Red Group.
