After suffering an embarrassing 6-0, 6-1 loss against Joao Sousa in Miami, David Goffin has found his game this week in Monte Carlo.

The Belgian has earned two impressive victories in the tournament, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas, 7-6 (4), 7-5, and Roberto Bautista Agut, 6-4, 7-5. It's clear that the 27-year-old's eye is in much better health after it was struck by a ball last month in Rotterdam, which caused him to miss Indian Wells. Now, Goffin appears to be making up for last time as the clay-court season really gears up.

The world No. 10 just happens to have a great chance to show that he is truly back on Friday, when he'll take on world No. 5 Grigor Dimitrov in our Tennis Channel Plus Match of the Day.

Match point from Dimitrov's win over Kohlschreiber in Monte Carlo:

Dimitrov is coming off of a pair of subpar tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami, where he won just one of three matches he played. For the fifth-ranked player in the world, exits in the first and second rounds of Masters tournaments are unacceptable.

But the next Masters tournament on Dimitrov's schedule has seen an improvement in form. Despite being pushed to third sets by both Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Philipp Kohlschreiber in his first two matches, Dimitrov emerged victorious. A few weeks ago, Dimitrov might have grown too frustrated for his own good. But he's looking a lot more comfortable in Monte Carlo—and on this surface.

The clay-court season hasn't been overly kind to Dimitrov in his career; his worst Grand Slam performances have come in Roland Garros. Dimitrov has at least made it to the fourth round of every Slam except for the French Open. But that is exactly why he should be feeling good about the way he is playing in Monaco, where he just so happens to reside.

Dimitrov isn't getting it done quickly, but he is finding ways to put together wins. And the 26-year-old has a great chance of earning another victory on Friday—he boasts a 6-1 record against Goffin. One of those wins came in the match that Goffin had to retire from because of the aforementioned eye injury.

But despite the lopsided record, Goffin should be feeling pretty good about his chances. He hasn't dropped a set this tournament and has historically been the better clay-court player of the two.

Regardless of the winner, Friday's match is one that features two Top 10 talents in their primes. Nadal vs. Thiem might win the day on paper, but this might actually be the better match.
