On Tuesday, Malek Jaziri faces Marsel Ilhan in our Tennis Channel Plus Match of the Day from Istanbul, Turkey.

This might not be a match that features the biggest of names, but it is one that should be extremely competitive.

Jaziri and Ilhan have faced one another four times since 2014 and each of the past three matches has gone to a deciding third set. Jaziri has won each of those three-setters, but Ilhan did beat Jaziri in four sets when the two met in Wimbledon back in 2014.

Both players also happen to be in pretty good form entering this contest.

Jaziri has won nine of his 12 past matches. His most recent appearance came in Barcelona, where he lost an incredible match to Grigor Dimitrov, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (8). Jaziri clearly enjoys playing against the Bulgarian, as he defeated him in late February and then had his chances again last week.

Ilhan, meanwhile, had played in two consecutive Challenger events before coming to Turkey. The 30-year-old went 3-2 in five Challenger-level matches in Bangkok, but this tournament will be a major step up in competition. Ilhan will have to bring his A-game in order to prevail.
