Rafael Nadal's uncle and coach, Toni Nadal, has told Spanish wire service EFE that the Spaniard is waiting for medical tests to reveal the nature of the knee injury that prompted his withdrawal in the Australian Open quarterfinals.
"We don't know the extent of the injury, but there is an issue there that was not there before," said Toni Nadal. "Now we're waiting for the doctor to tell us, but here he said to me it was not a serious problem... and now we must wait."
An MRI and another ultrasound will be done on Nadal's knee after the swelling has gone down in a couple of days.
