Hi, TWibe! Glad you made it to this special Saturday edition of the Deuce Club—obviously Pete and I made the programming change because we didn't want to get in the way of all the tennis action.

This one will be short, since I'm just . . . tired. That's some excuse, huh? But it's true, and I'm guessing most of you can empathize. How have you guys managed the time difference and your AO-watching? I've been alternating between going to bed at 3 AM and waking up at 3 AM; I've also done the quasi-all-nighter thing, taking intermittent cat naps between matches of interest. I do this to myself every year and can't bearnot doing it, but it's taking its toll . . . and we're not even halfway through! May the force be with me/us. Anyway, I apologize in advance for not giving you guys more to work with, and go ahead and use this space however you see fit, as always.

First up is a Suicide Pool update from TalkAboutTennis’s Mariya:

Both the men's and the women's fields have been decimated in the overall Suicide Pool. Just after 3 rounds, the men's pool is down to about 15% of contestants, while SPers are faring even worse on the women's side, with just about 7% surviving day 4!

On the bright side, looks like more members of the TWibe than ever played this SP. However, only 10 stay alive in the men's SP (slightly better percentage than for the overall) and only 4 in the women's SP. Here they are:

Men's SP (10 alive out of 58)
Baghdatis_Fan
Bismarck
Chicklet
Jacko
LBK77
Lira Verga
Mr X
Patrick/Master Ace
Tigress
Waylandboy

Women's SP (4 out of 24)
Fatboy
Lilly potter
Lira Vega
Tina

If you believe your name belongs on this list and it’s not there, check your day 1 pick to ensure that you included “TW” in your post. If you did, send me a private message through TalkAboutTennis.com.

And finally, take note that overall winners of both pools will receive a prize—an 8x10 framed photo of their choosing from TennisPhotographs.com!

Thanks for all your hard work, Mariya, and best of luck to our survivors!

It's been a zany week one, hasn't it? We've already seen heart-stopping 5-setters, head-scratching meltdowns, upsets, injuries, debacles, and more. What would you say has been your favorite and least favorite match or moment from these first six days? General impressions?

In my book, notable matches include Federer-Simon (duh), Nalbandian-Hewitt (duh again), the latter part of Ivanovic-Makarova, maybe Sharapova-Goerges, maybe Henin-Kuznetsova. Ah, and Verdasco-Tipsarevic, but for entirely different reasons than the others. But I've been entertained by more than just the actual tennis; check out the clips below.

Now you**—tell us how you've enjoyed the AO thus far and, if you'd like, what you're looking forward to going into the second week. Happy weekend and tennis-watching, TWibe!
