by Jackie Roe, TW Social Director

Evening, TWibe! Time’s a-wastin’, so let’s get started.

All Indian Wells attendees, don’t forget about our TW gathering on Friday, 3/9. We’ll be meeting in the lobby/bar area at the Renaissance Esmeralda Hotel, starting around 9 PM. Hope everyone can make it! If you’d like to exchange contact info in advance, e-mail me here.

This week marks the return of our All About Me TWiber profiles! (I’m still collecting submissions, so if you’re interested in taking the quiz yourself, drop me a line.) Can you guess who this is?

Who am I?

Gender: Female

Age: Old enough not to tell

Birthday: Sometime late September

Zodiac sign: Libra

Hair color: Off black

Shoe size: 8

Occupation: Mom, spouse, sister, friend, and more (TW groupie!)

Siblings: You'd be stunned how many times Mama went to the delivery room

Last album you listened to: "Right Down the Line" by Gerry Rafferty

Last film you saw: The Secret Life of Bees

Do you have a significant other?: Yes, my one and only

Crushes: Yesssss! (Even the ones that weren't worth it, you know? The ones that, right after the thrill dies down, you start saying, hmm maybe not?)

Favorite musician: If I say it now I give myself away, so I'll tell it when you find out who I am . . .

Favorite film: The Pianist (and naming one is not doing my collection justice) **

Favorite TV show: Anything with a detective and a mystery to solve

What you like to do on the weekend: Anything fun, peaceful, and lovely

Favorite color: Brown, purple, red (rouge passion). I guess yellow, too (see, a person of extremes, for real!)

Favorite food: Any homemade food that's tasty and hot (and I mean hot enough to burn your tongue!)

Favorite sport: Actually everything, but American football, baseball, boxing, golf [JR: No tennis??]

Most memorable experience: Inheriting and raising the little baby girl that my sister gave birth to and died shortly after; back then I was also nursing a 6 month old baby girl. Today people think they're twins (aww!).

Favorite vacation spot: Banjul, The Gambia, Home to Djouffoure. So unbelievable, so raw!

Pets: Parrots

Favorite number: 7, just because it's my number in the family count

Favorite day: Any memorably awesome one

Best feeling in the world: Knowing that you love completely and definitely and being 100% sure that that love is bounced right back at you!

Worst feeling in the world: Helplessness. What a void!

Love at first sight: I thought so when I was younger. Any tall, handsome, clean cut and well-dressed man used to make me feel it . . . until I discovered what really matters.

Death: Since I know it's bound to be there sometime, why bother? If only I could die in peace.

School: Both—of life and academics!

Long distance relationships: Yes. We're scattered . . .

Where do you want to live?: When the kids go to college, I might go back home, so I'll be able to walk every single night barefoot on a white sandy beach.

Fears: Humiliation, especially the ones we bring to ourselves. Heaven forbid!

Allergies: Rhume des foins!

Do you believe in heaven and hell?: Yes, and as an eternal sinner I pray every time so my last place is West of Heaven!

Do you believe in aliens?: If they exist they better show their "bisou"

What do you do that makes your friends mad?: I'm just too much, I'm sure even in here I get on your nerves! Clingy, too.

Bad habits: The one I'm really aware of and not proud of is holding grudges. Even if I know in my heart that I have forgiven and am not seeking revenge it's like I don't want to let the guilty party know. I think I'm very stubborn, too.

Talents: Breaking everything! So clumsy.

Favorite restaurant: Indian (mango lassi, biryani . . . )

Most prized possession: My capacity to evolve as a reasonable human being among the beautiful human race.

Most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done: Stole my schoolmate's lunch, which consisted of fish balls with sauce and bread. I blame the yummy smell; I sniffed it all morning until lunch recess. What gave me away? The sauce was all over my dress even though I went in a remote place to eat it—haha!

Hard liquor or beer?: None. Zam Zam or eau benite.

Chicken or turkey?: Chicken, unless I cook my own turkey (well-seasoned and marinated)

Love or lust?: Lust for some time, love forever

What are you thinking at this very moment?: If the test is positive it means I contracted the "nine months predicament" (I'll think about it tomorrow!)

Favorite kinds of clothes: Traditional. (I'm thinking if people guess right I will send one to post later on with the profile.) [JR: Yes, please do!]

Have you ever cried in public: That's my signature emotion; I cry at almost everything!

Something you want to do before you die: Pilgrimage to Mecca!

What do you hate: Entitlement, especially the one celebrities think they have over ordinary people

What makes you angry: When 20% of the population help themselves to the wealth and entitlements of the other 80%

Who would you want to meet?: Hillary Clinton. So much respect for that woman.

Who do you miss?: My mom. Wanted so much for her to see what a lady she raised!

The last person to make you smile: Bundle of joy in my household

The last dream you remember: A recurring dream is me swimming in an ocean or surrounded by huge fish!

Personal quote: "Never take anything for granted, cherish every blessing, including waking up in the morning and being able to do by yourself the most basic hygiene needs (I used to help people who are mentally challenged, the ones who are not able to move if you do not get them up from bed . . . sigh!).”

What is the meaning of life?: Playing the cards you've been dealt and reminding yourself that no matter how "not cool" you think your hand is, someone would rather have your cards!

Such revealing responses. Thank you for sharing so much about yourself, Mystery Poster! Guess away, TWibe (I think y'all will get this one ;)).

Go ahead and use this space over the weekend for match calls or OT chatter. Have a great weekend!

[Programming note: I’ll check back in post-IW trip with a tournament report . . . hope you’ll stop by!]
