You could definitely see Donald Young’s talent. That topspin-heavy lefty forehand, especially when hit DTL, reminded me of a much more successful lefty prodigy-turned-pro. There were quite a few long entertaining rallies, but as the match wore on, Young’s deficiencies became clearer – lack of any sort of good serve and tendency to make terrible unforced errors. Hewitt’s “Comawwwwn!”s became more frequent, and he ended up winning the 2nd set easily.

I left the stadium and met up with TWiber adicecream and her daughter for a little bit, which was very nice.

3) If you want a picture or an autograph with a well-known French tennis player in a hurry, shouting “Excusez moi!” is probably not going to get the job done.

Awesome, crazyone! You really captured all that there is to love about the live tennis experience; now I'm really looking forward to Cincy!

Turning things over to the rest of y'all now. Feel free to comment on crazyone's report, and if you're in need of a discussion topic, try this one on for size: Now that we're in full hardcourt season mode, tell us your thoughts about it. What do you like/dislike about hardcourt tennis? Are you enjoying the USO series? (This came to me after I saw some of you having the "Hardcourts - yea or nay?" discussion in a recent YC. Let's take a vote here!)
