Evening, TWibe. It’s getting late (par for the course lately, huh), so let’s just jump right into our All About Me TWiber profile for the week!
Who am I?
Age: Younger than Springtime/Older than dirt
Birthday: In Aug.
Zodiac sign: Leo
Hair color: Dirty blond/ash blond/flaxen/blond gray/just plain blond/just plain brown. Pick one – they all work.
Eye color: Blue
Shoe size: 10

Siblings: None anymore
Last film you saw: In the theater? Harry Potter, etc. At home—The Battle in Seattle.
Do you have a significant other?: Yes
Crushes: Spencer Tracy, Sam Waterston, Grant
Favorite musician: Composer—Haydn. Performer—TMI

Favorite actor: Ever—Spencer Tracy/Cary Grant. Current—Rupert Graves, Alan Cumming, George Clooney.
Favorite film: Information overload
Favorite TV show: Ditto
What you like to do on the weekend: Play tennis on a good court, which is almost any court, but especially one with a minimum of wheat fields growing up through the cracks. Or grab a camera and take a walk.
Favorite color: Midnight blue
Favorite food: Hard to know where to start, but a day without peanut butter is like a day without sunshine.
Favorite sport: Uh-hem. Tennis . . . to watch or play.
Most memorable experience: Meeting my significant other
Favorite vacation spot: Almost any beach almost any time
Pets: None now
Favorite number: 7 come 11
Worst fear: I can’t pick just one. I am a scaredy cat.
Best feeling in the world: Coming home
Worst feeling in the world: Fear (see above)
Love at first sight: Yup
Death: Yup. But, as the man said, “All things considered, I’d rather be in Philadelphia.” Or even Schenectady.
Long distance relationships: A few
Where do you want to live?: For now, where I am. For later, who knows.
Allergies: Jingoism
Do you believe in heaven and hell?: Nope. Though, and I know I am not the first to point this out, but isn’t it interesting how easy most people find it to imagine hell and how difficult to imagine heaven . . . the scaredy thing again.
Do you believe in aliens?: Sure, why not? I think Men in Black was a documentary.
What do you do that makes your friends mad?: I don’t know—my friends are too polite to tell me. But I bet the fact that I am a yakety katz is trying.
Who is the closest person to you?: My spouse
Bad habits: Again, not enough space. But procrastination is really high up there.
Talents: I can untangle hopelessly tangled jewelry. It is not much, but it is what I have.
Favorite restaurant: Not even sure it is still there, but Brasserie Joe’s in the Hotel Colannade in Boston. And the wurst stand outside the Musikverein in Vienna.
Most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done: A co-worker and I were standing around making witty and cutting remarks about the decorum, deportment and style sense of some in a crowd arriving for a concert. We thought we were engaged in the height of sophisticated repartee. A pleasant looking grey haired lady bustled down the street towards us. I said, sotto voce, something mean and nowhere near as funny as I thought it was. My co-worker turned to me and said, “That’s my mother.” My only excuse was that I was pretty young at the time—but still old enough to know better. I am sure there are other, even more embarrassing things that I have done, but I have blessedly blocked them out.
Hard liquor or beer?: Anything other than Jagermeister or Crème de Menthe is ok by me.
Chicken or turkey?: Both, thank you.
Love or lust?: Ditto.
Favorite love song: “Just the Way You Look Tonight”
Favorite break-up song: “I Will Survive”
What are you thinking at this very moment?: How soon before I can have a peanut butter and bacon sandwich?
Favorite kinds of clothes: The comfy kind. I am very “sportif”
Have you ever cried in public?: Sure, but not as much as John Boehner.
Something you want to do before you die: Learn to surf
Favorite person to talk to: My spouse—intelligent, opinionated, profane, funny. What more could one ask?
What do you hate: Crying in public. “And don’t say ‘hate,’ dear. It is such an unpleasant word.”
What makes you angry: Lying. Stupidity. People who believe liars. Apathy. Though, since I have been guilty of all of that, where do I get off?
Who would you want to meet?: Jon Stewart
Who do you miss?: My parents
The last person to make you smile: My spouse
The last dream you remember: My dream was a movie, the plot of which was that Alec Baldwin was playing a professor/scientist who possessed an incredibly valuable secret. Wayne Knight (Newman on Seinfeld and Officer Don on 3rd Rock from the Sun), was playing a shady operative who was trying to get the secret—by seducing the AB character. Successfully. Then the WK character really fell in love with AB’s character, but the AB character didn’t believe him and was terribly hurt to find out that he had been “used.” (The sub, sub basement of consciousness is mysterious indeed.)
Personal quote: When I am feeling up: “Moderation in all things—including moderation.” When I am feeling down: “The experiment on planet earth called homo sapiens needs a serious reboot. Or perhaps just a boot.”
What is the meaning of life: Don’t think it has any.
If you could change one thing that happened in your life, what would it be?: I would meet my spouse sooner. And I would have paid more attention in college. (Wait, that’s 2 . . . tough.)
First time posting on TW: Sometime after some AO sometime earlier in this century.
Favorite TW moment: Oh, the places I’ve “been” and the people I have “met,” via TW.
Brilliant job, Mystery Poster! So, who do we think this is? (Remember to e-mail me here if you have yet to take the quiz. C'mon, all the cool kids are doing it. ;))
Feel free to move match calls and conversations here now, or whenever the Gone Fishin’ thread starts creaking. Master Ace, I trust you’ll direct the masses to the appropriate location . . .
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
