Financial support and relief could be on the way for hundreds of ATP and WTA players. Tennis organizations are reportedly working on a stimulus package that will offer $10,000 to each player ranked anywhere from No. 250-700 in the world.

On Friday, Andy Roddick was excited to hear the news and thinks the idea of different tennis entities joining together in this unprecedented time is undoubtedly good for the sport.

"I think these are probably the people that need it most. I think if it's a collaborative issue between the different tennis entities all the better," said Roddick during TC Live.  "I think this is great news."

Although the former No. 1 commends the idea, he believes the difficult part will be executing the program and seeing it come to fruition.

"Ideas are easy, pulling the funds, figuring out where they're coming from, figuring out a way to organize them, figuring out how to distribute them - as we have seen on bigger issues than struggling tennis players is not the easiest thing to do," said Roddick.

The 2003 US Open champion says it will be a "big deal" if the stimulus program materializes and remains optimistic and hopeful that it will.

For now, players will have to wait as the numbers are crunched and the program is debated, in hopes that the sport will provide some light during this dreary time.
