Do you feel that your forehand motion isn't fluid? This could help: During practice, take two full swings as the ball approaches and hit it with the second swing. Swinging twice will force you to use a compact motion and minimize unnecessary movements. After a few shots like that, take only one swing and you'll have the beginnings of a smooth forehand drive.
