CHENNAI, India(AP) Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia has defeated former champion Carlos Moya in the opening round of the Chennai Open. The fourth-seeded Tipsarevic won 6-3, 7-6 (2).
Second-seeded Marin Cilic of Croatia defeated Russia's Igor Kunitsyn 6-2, 6-4 to move into the second round.
In other matches, Santiago Giraldo of Colombia defeated Bjorn Phau of Germany 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3 win and Jan Hajek beat Simon Greul of Germany 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
