With the destination of the Davis Cup determined, the professional tennis season has come to a close. Thus, we begin our look back at 2017, a memorable year on and off the court. Our Top 10 On-Court Moments, and our Top 10 Off-Court Moments, will remind you of everything that transpired.

Another defining feature of the season was injuries. Five top-ranked men’s players were out at the start of the ATP season—Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori and Milos Raonic—and hardly played the second half of the year. By the time the regular season wrapped up at the Paris Masters, almost a third of the Top 30 were off with injuries.

The WTA players had fewer layoffs, but Simona Halep, Garbine Muguruza, Maria Sharapova, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Johanna Konta, Timea Bacsinszky and Madison Keys were just a few who withdrew or retired with injury problems during the season.
